Heritage Tea

St. John's High School Heritage Tea
May 7, 2009 was an unseasonably cold evening but the Senior Gym at St. John's High School was brimming with smiles, warmth, sweets and "the brew that refreshes." Amid walls sprouting tiger lilies, tigers and tables festive with orange daisies, nostalgia reigned supreme.
Approximately 150 former teachers and staff, alumni, community members, current staff and students were entertained by the school's band and jazz choir. Angela Zhang played two solos on violin; Sheldon Mindell acted as master of ceremonies.
Former and current administrators poured tea and coffee. Guests were offered the opportunity to have their memories of former days recorded for the St. John's Video History. They enjoyed refreshments provided by donors and served by student volunteers.
Proceeds from the Tea will be donated to the St. John's High School Million Pennies Fund.
Another very enjoyable pre-Reunion event sponsored by your Centennial Organizing Committee.
